2009 D.O.Ca Rioja Gran Reserva, La Rioja, Spain

Light toasted notes on the nose, ripe, preserved dark berries, dried vegetal notes and some tobacco, light herbaceous and earthy notes. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, toasted oak, some bacon and tobacco, cocoa, fine sandy tannins, sugar candy in the background, slightly creamy, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, very slightly jammy, but becomes mush more firm with aeration, good depth, hint of tobacco again and some dark chocolate on a very good juicy finish.
