1998 D.O.Ca Rioja Reserva Monte Real, La Rioja, Spain

Muted garnet, showing some maturation, lighter on rim. Nose present with red and black berries, sour cherries and a touch of soup greens. Concentrated and quite juicy on the palate, very fine tannins with good presence, some chocolate and spicy oak in the background, quite powerful, persistent on the palate, excellent balance, firmly structured, good length.
