2003 D.O.Ca Rioja Reserva Conde de Valdemar, La Rioja, Spain

Dried mixed berries and plums on the nose, fairly prominent malted notes and oak, light animal notes, licorice and sugar candy. Tart and slightly juicy on the palate, prominent roasted oak and extremely astringent tannins, vegetable and lemony notes, rustic style, not particularly deep, astringent finish.
