Deep and complex on the nose, spices, smoke, tobacco, black berries, some old oak and herbs, oxidative notes. Concentrated and firmly structured, slightly oxidative style, typical acidity, spicy oak in the background, mineral notes on the palate, very complex flavors, tremendous depth, very creamy, perfect balance, tremendously long finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2020. What our ratings mean

Best to drink: 2007-2015.
Editor note: Garnet, some brown tinges. Cool on the nose, soup greens, minerals, some smoke and dark fruit. Quite concentrated on the palate, noticeable acidity, lots of fairly fine tannins, still slightly astringent, very firm structure, has bite and depth, marked mineral notes, persistent, still undeveloped, needs a lot of aeration, tart and initially acid-dominated finish, then more complex with aeration, very long.
