2003 Barbera d'Asti DOC Bricco dell'Uccellone, Piedmont, Italy

Firm nose with sweet vanilla and slightly roasted spicy oak, smoky notes and dried herbs. Lots of oak in the mouth, astringent tannins and slightly subdued fruit, some acidity as well as mineral notes, oak dominates the palate too, very full-bodied, but needs to have more depth and substance, attractive finish.
