1989 Barbaresco DOCG Riserva Santo Stefano di Neive, Piedmont, Italy

Elegant mature nose, very ripe red berries and some plums, hint of chocolate, tar, dried flowers and leaves, some forest floor and leather, prominent mineral notes, delicate herbs and spices, some leek. Juicy, enchanting, elegant mature sweetish red fruit on the palate, very charming, very full-bodied and creamy, but also structured with elegant acidity and very fine tannins, candied nuts and some chocolate, elegant tart spice, light earthy and mineral notes, develops a touch of leek and onion with aeration, concentrated and deep, very long finish.
