2005 Barolo DOCG Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy

Cool, fine, but even more closed, a trace of fleshy fragrance with berry tones and vegetable aromas, some tobacco, withered foliage, lots of earthy minerality and dried floral nuances. Concentrated and juicy in the mouth, almost a little boiled down, red and black fruit with hints of rock candy, some liquorice and dark chocolate, ripe, crumbly tannin, tobacco notes and some liquorice, in the background also vegetable and tobacco aromas, lasting and deep, still young, strong, slightly warming, traces of dried mushrooms, hints of rock candy, rather long, multi-layered finish. Must mature further.
