2007 Barbera d'Alba DOC vigna veja, Piedmont, Italy

Very slightly buttery nose, partly dried red and black berries, some preserved cherries, peppery notes, herbaceous and roasted notes. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, very ripe, slightly jammy fruit, mature tannins, buttery notes again, light earthy notes, good persistence, noticeable but fairly well integrated alcohol, herbaceous notes, good to very good finish.
