2004 Barbera del Monferrato DOC Pierin, Piedmont, Italy

Aged, somewhat dried herbal and spicy aroma of dried black and red berries with plum notes and slightly jammy tones. Matured, yet taut fruit in the mouth, chestnut-like woody tones, some wilted foliage and sweet-tart spicy notes, also clearly lovage and parsley on the palate, some persistence, good to very good finish.
