2010 Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC Rossese, Liguria, Italy

Rather tart, slightly nutty nose, red berries, old oak and undergrowth, some dried flowers and hay, hint of almonds. Clear, lively, delicately juicy tart fruit on the palate, more nutty notes and old oak, hint of hay and some oranges in the background, elegant acid bite, fine tannins, quite persistent, light mineral notes, refreshing, good to very good finish. One tends to underestimate this wine initially, but it opens up on the palate and has a surprisingly long finish.
