2000 Carmignano DOC "Trefiano", Tuscany, Italy

Fully mature nose, black berries and dried prunes, smoky and malted notes, tar and lots of lovage, leathery notes. Again fully mature on the palate, but quite juicy in the mouth, sweetish and creamy, roasted oak and chocolate, fine but slightly dry tannins, smoked meat, full-bodied, good persistence, not particularly deep, noticeable alcohol and slightly astringent notes on an attractive to good finish.
