2015 Rosso di Valtellina DOC, Lombardy, Italy

Tart, rather cool, old woody and dried planty scent of red berries, some cherries and hints of black berries with slightly wilted floral, tobacco and earthy to mineral notes. Clear, fine-juicy, slightly acidic and again cool fruit, dried-vegetable to herbal, somewhat earthy as well as old and undergrowthy notes, fine acid bite and fine-sandy tannin, good persistence, peppery nuances, some depth, good to very good finish with animating, rather tart, yet ripe juice as well as a little fennel seed
