DOCG area (also Diano or Diano d'Alba) for red wine in the Italian region Piedmont, The DOC was upgraded in 2010. The zone covers 330 hectares of vineyards in the area of the eponymous mountain town of Diano d'Alba. It lies between the better known DOCG areas Barolo and Barbaresco, The 75 sunny south-facing slopes have a special status. On the efforts of the municipality and the establishment of low yield limits (56 hl / ha), official recognition as individual layers was first made in Italy ( Sori ) reached.
