2011 Colli Tortonesi DOC Barbera Superiore La fine del mondo, Piedmont, Italy

Slightly open, nutty and iodine-like nose, preserved dark fruit, some cocoa, dried vegetal notes, some leather, soup herbs and licorice. Very ripe, canned and dried fruit, dark fruit, sugar candy, pepper, some iodine and a hint of pepper, herbaceous notes and tart spicy notes, persistent, good substance, very slightly open, warming alcohol, sandy-brown tannins, cocoa in the background, very good, juicy finish with sweetish smelt.
