2005 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Gualto, Tuscany, Italy

Red and black berries on the nose, partly roasted herbs and spices, delicate vegetal and earthy notes, light spicy oak. Full-bodied, jammy fruit on the palate, some nougat and milk chocolate, toasted oak, tart malted notes and caramel, fairly prominent and slightly astringent tannins, cocoa, good persistence, noticeable alcohol, hint of soup greens in the background, good to very good finish.
