2009 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

Tight, quite deep, herbaceous, slightly nutty aroma of very ripe mixed berries with some pepper, dried herbs, hints of juniper and smoke. Firmly woven, ripe, dense, juicy fruit, nutty wood tones, some liquorice, peppery-spicy aromas and a hint of tar, persistent, powerful, fine sandy, very slightly drying tannin, some bite, persistent and powerful, good depth, a little liquorice, hints of dried herbs, peppery-spicy tones, still surprisingly young looking, very good, firm, juicy and slightly smoky finish with spicy aromas, herbs and black olives. Still completely ageless.
