2016 Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione "Il Picchio", Tuscany, Italy

Clear noser, ripe, partly preserved black and a few red berries, cherries, dried flowers, hint of tobacco, spicy traces, licorice and provencale herbs in the background. Ripe, juicy, firm dark fruit on the palate, fairly prominent, ripe, very fine tannins, light bite, salty traces in the background, concentrated and persistent, dried herbs and peppery traces, touch of dark chocolate, good depth, still young, very good, firm, juicy, gripping finish.
