2008 Barolo DOCG Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe, Piedmont, Italy

Deep and complex, slightly developed, tarry and nutty aroma of ripe black and red berries with tobacco aromas, juniper and some iodine, dried flowers and black olives. Firmly woven, concentrated, powerful and juicy in the mouth, barrel wood notes, some smoke, tobacco and a hint of cocoa, present, firm tannin, some acid bite, dense, deep and persistent on the palate, deep and complex, almost compact construction, salt in the background, juniper and black olives, very slightly malty tones, hints of dried herbs and also pepper, plenty of persistence in the long, firm, juicy and tart-spicy finish. In great shape, once again clearly better than at the first tasting about 7 years ago....
