1994 Bairrada DOC Quinta do Poço do Lobo, Beiras, Portugal

Spicy oak on the nose, ripe and partly dried black berries, some plums, undergrowth and a hint of malt, mineral notes. Firm in the mouth, quite juicy, with lively acidity and slightly dusty and astringent, but evenly distributed tannins, roasted oaky notes on the palate, delicate oxidative notes, more mineral notes on the palate, fairly austere, traditional style, good finish. The slightly severe style means it shows off all its good qualities as a partner with food.
