2016 Saint Joseph AOC "Deschants", Rhône, France

Tart and cool, still reductive, somewhat bacon, vegetable to herbaceous and a hint of fleshy nose with tart cherry and berry tones. Still undeveloped, straightforward, tart fruit again with yeasty nuances, some cocoa and spicy hints, youthful, finely dusty tannin, some persistence, slightly peppery spice in the background, has a touch of grinding and freshness, mineral traces, a little nutty and tobacco, good to very good, cool and tart and juicy finish.
