2012 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Pinot Noir trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Clearly developed, nutty and woody nose of black and red berries with earthy and slightly tarry aromas. Firmly woven, tart, dark fruit, smoky and slightly sooty wood, quite present tannin and some acid bite, good persistence, has power, a little drying and bitterish on the finish.
