2014 Lorch Schlossberg Pinot Noir trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Firm, cool, polished, fairly deep nose, mixed berries and cherries, some juniper, bay leaf, coffee, dried herbs and prominent mineral notes. Clear dark fruit on the palate, surprisingly cool considering the level of alcohol, nutty notes, hint of coffee, firm, youthful, fairly fine tannins, elegant cherry notes, prominent oak with fairly prominent tannins, salty mineral notes in the background, coffee again, tart juicy notes on a very good finish.
