2016 Lorch Kapellenberg Pinot Noir, Rheingau, Germany

Clear, lively, tart, fairly cool nose, red berries, light spicy notes, dried vegetal and floral traces, hint of bacon, Mediterranean herbs in the background, light mineral notes. Ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, has both warm and cool elements, light nutty and spicy notes, more Mediterranean herbs, integrated tannins, good substance and persistence, good depth, some grip, still largely undeveloped, hint of bacon and some mushrooms, smoky and toasted traces, very good, fairly juicy mineral finish.
