The area is in the south of the region Bordeaux immediately east of Graves. Until the 2008 vintage, it was declared as an appellation for red wines. In 2009 the roof appellation Cotes de Bordeaux created. The red wines are now under the appellation Cadillac - Cotes de Bordeaux produced. Under "Premières Côtes de Bordeaux" only sweet wines are now made Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle generated.
