The estate is located in the commune of Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes Saint-Emilion
(Bordeaux). It was taken over by Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard in 2000, whose family also owns the two wineries Château Haut-Bergey (Pessac-Léognan) and Clos L'Eglise (Pomerol). The estate is managed by daughter Hélène Garcin-Lévêque. After the takeover, large investments were made in the cellar and vineyards. The company was first classified as a "Grand Cru Classé" in 2012. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards planted with Merlot (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). The BSA takes place in 100% new barriques, after which the long-lived red wines mature in 100% new barriques for 18 months. The second wine is called "Le Vallon de Barde Haut".
