2014 Blayais (Blaye) AOC, Bordeaux, France

Firm and quite deep, dried vegetal, tobacco-woody and somewhat earthy nose, ripe black berries, hint of bacon and soot. Firm, ripe, tart and juicy dark fruit, very fine, youthful tannins, persistent and quite dense on the palate, tobacco, nutty and very slightly sooty oak notes, elegant acid bite, restrained power, good persistence and depth, touch of licorice Background, slightly plum, has polished, compact construction, very good, dense, juicy and slightly spicy oak finish with salty notes.
