2001 Margaux AOC Troisième Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France

Initially animal notes, rather stinky, then black berries, roasted oak and minerals. Clean, elegantly juicy fruit, very fine tannins, still slightly astringent, mineral notes on the palate, cool, very good presence, roasted aromas and cedar wood in the background, excellent depth and persistence, still quite youthful, long finish.
