The estate is located in the village of Villenave-d'Ornon in the area Pessac-Léognan in Graves (Bordeaux). It was built in 1967 by André Lurton by acquiring 13 hectares of the vineyard INRA belonging Château Couhins which he had already leased for several years. There are six hectares of it Sauvignon Blanc and seven acres with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot planted. In 1992, Lurton of INRA also bought the Château and the old cellar and renovated both. The classified as "Cru Classé" white wine is ten months in 100% new barrels expanded. The second wine is called "Château Cantebeau". The red wine is not classified.
