1998 Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC, Rhône, France

Mature ripe berries, some persimmon fruit and chestnut purée, medium-intense nutty nose, very mature. Polished fruit, restrained, but has substance and depth, mature, delicately sweet berry fruit is harmoniously balanced by moderate acidity and ripe, integrated tannins, with aeration the wine fades, loses definition and finishes short. Should be drunk soon.
