1981 Saint-Julien AOC Deuxième Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France

Initially a light whiff of horse stables, then develops preserved black berries, loads of cassis, cedar wood, hint of roasted corn, some mineral notes in the background. Mature and quite juicy on the palate, clear fruit, fairly prominent but fine and mature tannins, persistent, medium-bodied and fairly creamy, elegant acid bite, prominent mineral notes, very harmonious, in excellent condition, good long finish.
