2001 Saint-Julien AOC Deuxième Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France

Intense nose, animal notes, bread, cassis, some tobacco, mineral notes. Concentrated cassis fruit in the mouth, lots of fine but still tart tannins, roasted notes on the palate, quite juicy, compact structure, deep and surprisingly elegant, tobacco and minerals in the background, very good presence, still totally undeveloped, long finish. May still improve with time.
