The winery (also Château les Grandes Murailles) is located on the northern edge of
Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux) in the same area. It had been owned by the Reiffers family since the mid-19th century. It was last managed by Sophie Fourcade-Reiffers, who sold it to the Cuvalier family in 2013. It is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover nearly two hectares of vineyards with 100% Merlot. The one on the (also sold to Cuvalier)
Château Côte de Baleau vinified, long-lived red wine matures for up to 20 months in 100% new oak barrels.
