The estate is located in the commune of Maumusson Madiran in Southwest France, The owner Alain Brumont is largely responsible for the leap in quality in this area. When in the 1970s INAO Limiting the tannate content in favor of other varieties, the vintners fought against it under the leadership of Brumont and planted four fifths of his vineyard Tannat, He experimented with lowest yields, longer ones maceration, frequent racking and long barrel expansion. In 1985 he brought the first unmixed Tannat red wine with Bordeaux format out and caused a sensation. There are two wineries or wines called Château Bouscassé and Château Montus. The vineyards cover a total of 160 hectares. The two Madiran top red wines are predominantly made of tannate and portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with long, five-week fermentation pressed and 16 months in new expanded.

The “Château Montus” comes from vineyards with gravel soils in the Hautes-Pyrénées department. The "Château Bouscassé" grows on loamy limestone soils with vines over 50 years old in the Gers department. The highest-quality tannate is used to produce the flagship of the house called “Montus la Tire”, which matures in barriques for some years, such as 1994 and 2000. The second wines are called "Domaine Meinjarre" and "Torus". In both areas, dry and sweet white wines are also sold under the AOC name Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh produced. Besides, too IGP wines (Country wines) produced.
