2000 Pauillac AOC Cinquième Cru Classé, Bordeaux, France

Firm and quite deep, clear aroma of ripe black berries with cedary and meaty-animal notes, a little liquorice and grilled vegetables as well as dark tobacco and Brazil nut. Ripe, juicy, again dark fruit with notes reminiscent of cranberries, light smoky aromas, quite present, fine sandy tannin, a hint of chocolate and liquorice, some bite from fine acidity, smoky traces, lasting, has power but also charm, a little green pepper and pepper in the background, very good, juicy finish with slightly bitter spice and still a little sandy tannin. From the magnum clearly stronger than the last sample from the normal bottle.
