Preserved blackcurrants and some blueberries on the nose, touch of red berries, hint of tobacco, some chocolate and licorice, spicy oak. Tart on the palate, dark fruit, quite a lot of oak, chocolate, fairly fine, only partly astringent tannins, light mineral notes in the background, good persistence and has some depth, modern style is in the foreground rather than the wine's origin, very forward chocolate notes and dominated by oak again on the finish. The wine was very well amde, but it is hardly a typical Margaux.
