The winery is located in Saint-Emilion in the same area (Bordeaux). The name derives from "Ville Maure" (Moorish city) and refers to a camp that the Saracens had pitched here in the 8th century. It is owned by the trading house Robert Giraud, the other 20 Châteaux in the Bordeaux belong. The farm is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover eight hectares of vineyards with Merlot (85%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). The long-lived red wine is matured for 18 to 24 months in 50% new oak barrels.
