2012 Ventoux AOC Vieilles Vignes, Rhône, France

Firm and deep, very slightly open scent of ripe red and black berries with tobacco and nutty-woody aromas, dry herbs, some pepper and cardamom as well as tobacco and earthy tones. Ripe, very juicy, partly preserved fruit with roasted and nutty wood aromas, dried herbs, cake spices and a little dried citrus, present, fine sandy tannins, persistent and powerful, a hint of chocolate on the palate, good substance and depth, plenty of strength, but also certain Freshness and life, quite complex, a little caramel in the background, very good, juicy and spicy finish.
