2013 Ventoux AOC, Rhône, France

Somewhat warm, a hint of open, nutty and slightly smoky-woody scent of very ripe, partly preserved predominantly red berries with a little bit of root vegetables and soup herbs in the background, hint of pepper and earthy notes. Tart, quite juicy fruit on the palate, light-sandy tannins, candied-nutty notes on the palate, peppery, spicy notes, again herbs, good persistence, full-bodied, prominent salty-mineral notes in the background, very good, quite firm, Tart finish with relatively fresh juice, spice and a lot of train.
