1998 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva Poggio al Vento, Tuscany, Italy

Roasted notes and light mineral notes, ripe berries and plums, notes of baked fruit, some dried tomatoes and lovage. Cool fruit on the palate, some more lovage, mineral notes, dark roasted aromas in the background, tart, slightly astringent tannins, not particularly deep, cool, restrained and tannin-dominated finish.
