2001 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Partly dried plums and red berries on the nose, delicate hint oif licorice, sweetish, roasted, spicy notes. Quite cool on the palate, slightly astringent, light cedary notes, but also fairly creamy and juicy, good persistence, mineral traces, has some depth, in very good condition, but not particularly deep, medium length. Significantly better than the first sample - or has developed much better than expected.
