2002 Sant 'Antimo DOC "Olmaia" Cabernet, Tuscany, Italy

Blackcurrants, some blackberries and plums on the nose, light touch of dried herbs, light roasted notes and some oak. Clear, polished, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, sugar candy, spicy oak, hint of chocolate, herbaceous notes in the background, hint of black olives, good persistence, elegant acid bite, predominantly mature tannins, grippy and has some depth, noticeable alcohol, good to very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2012+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Prominent spicy oak and roasted notes on the nose, black berries and some plums, cedary notes. Quite juicy fruit, fairly prominent but quite well integrated oak, medium-fine tannins, black berries and sour cherries on the palate, some chocolate, quite full-bodied, well structured, persistent on the palate, sweetish and spicy notes, good depth and length, slightly astringent on the finish.
