2006 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Firm nose, prominent spicy oak, smoky and roasted notes, red and black berries, cherries and plums, some soup greens, earthy and mineral notes in the background. Full-bodied ripe fruit on the palate, oak, herbaceous notes, fairly prominent, partly still astringent tannins, lively acidity, smoky notes, more earthy and mineral notes in the background, good substance, good to very good finish.
