2000 D.O. Toro Pago la Jara, Castilla y León, Spain

Deep youthful purple to garnet. Nose dominated by spicy oak, coffee, cassis and cherries in the background, slight animal note. Juicy and sweet in the mouth, very soft, approachable fruit, fine tannins, not very persistent on the palate, lots of oak, attractive finish. A well made but slightly superficial crowd-pleaser.
