2013 Campi Flegrei DOC Piedirosso, Campania, Italy

Somewhat earthy and dried-vegetable aroma of red and black berries with tobacco notes and dried-floral hints. Tart, slightly developed fruit with slightly smoky and toasty wood notes, earthy and dried-vegetable notes on the palate, a little drying, sandy tannin, some persistence, bacony nuances, hints of salt, tart style, good if very slightly brittle finish
