2001 Gattinara DOC, Piedmont, Italy

Preserved red berries and plums on the nose, sweetish spicy, slightly malty notes, sweets spice and wilted flowers. Ripe, juicy and again slightly malty fruit, very fine, fairly prominent Nebbiolo tannins, persistent on the palate, good depth, medium-bodied, very harmonious, still youthful, long finish.
