2006 Mercurey Premier Cru AOC Champs Martin, Burgundy, France

Cherries and red berries on the nose, tobacco and some floral notes, slightly sweetish spicy oak. Polished, very slightly tart red berry fruit on the palate, vegetal as well as elegant herbaceous notes, light roasted oak, earthy notes, fairly prominent medium-fine and slightly astringent tannins, fairly creamy, very good finish. May improve further with maturity, once the oak is integrated.
