Editor note: Light nutty and peppery notes on the nose, black and red berries, hint of tobacco, light earthy notes. Tart fruit on the palate, earthy and dried vegetal notes, hint of tobacco and bacon, peppery notes, fine sandy, slightly astringent tannins, fairly good persistence, slightly muted, more earthy notes, bacon and mushrooms on a tart finish.
Best to drink: To 2020+

The appellation, named after the small town of the same name, is located in the east of the wine-growing region Southwest France, Gaillac is one of the oldest wine regions France, The Romans have practiced viticulture here at least since the 1st century.
