2018 Gigondas AOC "Les Hauts de Montmirail", Rhône, France

Rather taut, clear, fresh cherry and mixed berry fruit with herbal notes, a touch of pepper and liquorice, lavender notes and delicately fleshy tones. Firm, pure, tangy, youthful fruit, firm, fine tannin and some acid bite, dense and persistent on the palate, peppery spice in the background, slightly nutty and chocolaty, very good substance and persistence, a lot of power, but also a certain freshness and grinding, ethereal nuances, deep and multi-layered, very good, extremely juicy finish with fine spice.
