2016 Ventoux AOC "Les Essareaux", Rhône, France

Fairly tart, slightly dried vegetal to herbaceous and earthy notes, predominantly dark berries and cherries with delicate fleshy, tobacco and peppery notes. Ripe and juicy fruit, some nuts and noticeable cocoa on the palate, fine sandy tannins and delicate acid bite, quite good substance and persistence, a touch of tobacco, in the background Provence herbs and juniper, some alcohol heat, but also cooling elements, coffee grounds, very good, relative austere finish.
