2003 Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC Renaissance, Rhône, France

Partly overripe berries, fairly alcoholic nose, juniper, dried herbs, some chocolate and partly dried cherries. Good presence of fruit, more chocolate, clearly noticeable alcohol, slightly sandy, ripe tannins, fairly firm structure, good depth and persistence, not yet ideally balanced, long finish. Needs time to mature.
